Watermans Hitch
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.10 лет назад
My version of a hitch used universally on the Thames by professional watermen for making fast. It will never slip or jam but can simply be released no matter how much tension is on it. The tension can also be taken up or slackened off, without fear of losing control or the rope coming off the bollard.

The Cornishman

A quick glimpse of 4965 and 5043 hauling The Cornishman back up past Tiverton. Best I could do with limited time available - and they were running about 15 minutes early so nearly missed them...

Driving a class 33 diesel locomotive on the West Somerset Railway.
Nice eclectic selection of types there. Looks like the weather played ball for a change. Given its age I imagine the BA Swallow reminds you that feet are not just for walking on, there'll be plenty of adverse yaw in the turns and plenty of rudder will be needed for balanced turns.
Unbelievable, all these old buses and coaches built here in Britain,we led the world in bus and coach production and now apart from Dennis Alexander I don’t think we manufacture a bus chassis anymore there all Scania,Volvo and various other foreign chassis manufacturers like our truck industry. DAF using the Leyland factory to assemble trucks that are owned by Paccar an American company, whatever happened to our manufacturing industries???. It’s no wonder this country is going down the drain.
Much appreciated. There is no general aviation here, and no airshows.
You have my sympathy then. I love GA and airshows and am lucky enough to live under the circuit of a busy local airfield. Unfortunately it's becoming increasingly populated by plastic tadpoles. Traditional machines like this are rare visitors, the best I can hope for is the occasional Chipmunk, Tiger Moth or maybe if I'm lucky a Harvard or Yak 52.
"There's no landing fee, and no parking fee and you can stay as long as you like - and there's tea and coffee ..." Perfect day, then!
Thanks for providing this great video record of the day - some fantastic aircraft; wish I'd been there!
1:08 s i n g l e decker bus
The most exciting thing to happen to Warminster in several decades
I love dose buses how beautiful they are .thank you so much i am maltese.
The roads look much better with those buses around
Wonder if that's still the police station ,, they are going past ?
its still the same today
Funny how the vintage buses look like they belong there yet the modern cars do not.
Beautiful array of buses love the video
Hey ... Big like, 49 ... for this interesting video ... Greetings with a Sunny Smile from Germany by EDDY
A reminder of when buses were coach-painted so beautifully and the local company names and liveries complemented the area. Today, most buses are mobile eyesores with names devised by dopey marketing exeutives.
very nicely put together, best loco there and and one of my old favourites since the early 80s. Good film.
Panoramic looking airfield
Why are there Routemasters and RF's in Wiltshire? Have their owners no shame?
Cheers Mark. Not a great day weather wise but the usual array of beautifully turned-out vehicles. Glad you liked it. Alan.
Fantastic footage, beautifully done, thanks for sharing.
I live in Warminster
Cheers Steve
